My Father

My dad passed away 8 years ago and painting him has been an honour. My dad is depicted pouring milk into two baby cups for me and my twin, Sasha. On a personal level, this image encapsulates that feeling of family and connection. My dad's expression shows him concentrating and taking care with his actions which has influenced me to reflect the same care for detail when commemorating this image on canvas. I have been able to explore my grief in a medium I haven't before. Both me and my family feel that this portrait has brought us all closer to him.
