Boro Ma বড় মা

My Boro Ma (Great Granny) died of Covid-19 last month at the age of 96. She was the Queen of my Bengali family. I spent a weekend painting a portrait of her as a way of remembering her and making my Nani (Granny) feel a bit less sad.
The painting is based on photos, and my memories. The small details were important to me, the way her lipstick always matched her Sari, her pretty gold jewellery and how she always wore her hair in a bun.
