I had been experimenting with Brusho and PVA glue when I stumbled upon a technique which was easily controlled and gave vibrant colours. In order to make the most of this, I decided to paint a colourful bird and a kingfisher was the first thing to spring to mind. I had also been wanting to do a kingfisher for some time.
