Halo

Inspired by the work of Kehinde Wiley, I developed a self-portrait inspired by the Mona Lisa. I have autism and enjoy being creative. I liked the idea of myself as an Italian lady from the medieval period. I like how her hairband looks like a halo, representing an angel learning to fly. The background is made of a heart pattern. Cupid is the Roman god of love so, I thought it was quite fitting to use a heart in background as the symbol of love. I used colours that excited me.
