Sarah Everard's Vigil

My depiction of the chaos that erupted on the night of Sarah Everard's Vigil. I wanted to capture the explosive anger and terror of the women pinned to the ground by the very officers who were supposed to protect them. I used old paintings such as 'The Reluctant Bride' and 'The Abduction of the Sabine Women' to stress the centuries of disrespect and brutality we continue to be subjected to. A beautiful outpouring of grief was trampled by the police.
