I started with the idea of creatures, and I kept going back to night creatures. From night creatures I thought about myths and magical creatures. I thought foxes were a good choice to start with which led me to discover Mika Hirasa. She is a Japanese textile artist who does a lot of collaging with fabric and then adds embroidery on top. She uses foxes in her work. I am scared of dogs, but I love cats.
