My piece is based around the intricate art of Ancient Egypt, specifically looking at the visual/hypnotic appearance of hieroglyphs. The background motif was made through the layering of gold leaf and paint to create a lustrous base. My work focuses particularly on the sense of sight, aiming to overwhelm the viewer and create a sense of confusion as they don’t know where to look.
