Midnight Luminary
Rozinah, Age 13
This work was inspired by the midnight sky. It represents the stars shining brightly through the dark misty sky and makes the clothing seem magical. It was also inspired by my religious clothing style making it seem more expressed in the art and also showing the world what our religion/culture looks like. The main idea of Vogue and a clothing pattern came from the late 1900s magazines and dress patterns. I wanted to represent our religious/cultural clothes while bringing back the ideas of original magazines and sewing patterns using different mediums.
