The children looked at a variety of portraits, artists and mediums to inspire them. They painted freely on large paper using thick brushes and black paint. Joud said: ‘I enjoyed this because I could use the whole space and I usually use colour paint, but I liked using only black’. Ildar said: ‘I liked being able to paint whatever I wanted to. We had to be fair and all have the same amount of space so it was tricky fitting everything in’.
