Shimmers

This painting was inspired by the glimmers of light you often see when walking along a canal. I was drawn in by the colours shown in the reflections and the contrast of them. I chose not to add any animals or objects as I wanted to focus solely on the ripples themselves. I allowed the water to become the focal point, and not just a background, emphasising the complexity it has on its own.
