The Inevitable

I have created a miniature piece and the scale is meant to imply the size of human life in comparison to the time we have on Earth. The candle represents the slowly diminishing time we have and the inevitable burning down until the flame finally goes out, leaving the smoke drifting into the air unknowing where it will end up. I have been fascinated with paintings from the Renaissance and I love the style they are painted in, particularly the use of light and shadow on inanimate objects.
