My sculpture is a reflection of LGBTQ+ movements and discrimination in history. The main reason for this work is to show how the LGBTQ+ community has progressed and developed in our society from not being respected and being discriminated against, to being accepted and loved. There is still discrimination towards members of the LGBTQ+ community as I have experienced this negative discrimination towards me. The meaning behind the grey and rainbow-coloured tiles is that the grey represents all the negativity towards LGBTQ+ and the rainbow shows the progress that has, and still is, being achieved.
