Nature Escaping

The theme for this piece is related to the idea of nature escaping. It follows the concept of plants and roots being constrained and how they are escaping the restraints of the glass (test tubes). This symbolises the restraints of nature in modern day society, and how plants and roots are constantly fighting against the synthetic environment they have come to live within. I am mostly inspired by botanical illustrators as I have liked researching the forms of the plants and roots in a scientific and comprehensive way. I was also partially inspired by Evie Cahir who makes use of plant propagation and incorporates the roots and reflections in her work.
