Sky the Rabbit

During the creation of 'Sky the Rabbit' I appreciated the imperfections of nature and the beauty of rabbits. The painting was made with acrylic paint (my preferred material) so I could add texture and layers to the painting on the highlighted parts where the fur is. One of my main inspirations for this piece was Rosie Mark. I love her work and how she portrays the beauty of animals while still retaining the chaotic nature of each animal. During my younger years, I have always had a rabbit companion by my side. However, recently my recent rabbit has passed. This art piece was very therapeutic to make and made me appreciate how lucky we are to have animals in our lives and reminded me of all the happy times shared with nature.
