I painted a broken custard doughnut to catch its personified feelings through drama. Capturing the powdery surface and softness of the doughnut makes it seem innocent and emotional. This directly links to the choice of using a spotlight as a way to expose the subject and their secrets oozing out. Colour saturating the filling coveys panic and how overwhelming the situation is.
