Self-Portrait

Before I made my own self-portrait, I looked at the artwork of Lucian Freud. I was inspired by his use of colour and the character of his work. For my self-portrait, I used oil pastels to add colour. I wanted my piece to capture the attention of the viewer. This is why the gaze is looking out at the viewer. I think that this piece of art really represents me as a person because this is how I truly am. In my school, I'm known for being very cold (in temperature) so I always wear a hat and scarf. I'm definitely happy I was able to encapsulate this feature of my persona.
