Self-Portrait

This is a self-portrait I completed during November when we got back to school after Covid-19. It took me about 10 hours to complete. It is based on a selfie. I’d already painted a portrait of my brother during lockdown and wanted to do something a little bit different for my exam piece. Normally my hair is braided (this takes five plus hours) but in the photo, my hair is loose, more of an afro style. The background is in different blocks of blue, which is not only my favourite colour but also the colour of my favourite football team, Manchester City who I have supported since I have understood the concept of football.
