Having drawn Great Grandad Alpha (my other submission) and seeing my great grandma's reaction I drew her portrait which I presented to her on her next birthday. As the family matriarch, it was important to capture her strength and dignity but also her playfulness...I think I did it? Copies of both portraits now sit by side in family households here, in the Caribbean and the US, which I'm really proud and pleased about.
