This work was inspired when I walked past a house during the pandemic. The lights in the house were bright and the books on the shelf were vibrant, contrasting the coldness and emptiness outside the street. The head of the woman who was chatting with another person was sticking out from the bottom of the window. It looks like a mushroom, which brings more delight and surprise to the dark surroundings. This painting is also inspired by Edward Hopper's use of colours and the way he frames his works.
