Portraits Inspired by BLM Movement

Amida, Age 18

Amida conducted a practical investigation into the Black Lives Matter movement. Her work reflects on the portrayal of Black people within society, as well as their ongoing activism. Emory Douglas and Barbara Walker have had a huge influence on her artwork and as a result, she has worked a lot with oil paint and different types of printing. She often introduces other materials and techniques into her work because she finds that this allows her to find more interesting ways to visualise her concepts.
