M is for Meerkat
Vincent, Age 5
During lockdown one, Vincent created an ABC of animals and creatures. It started as a way of avoiding screen time and managing his frustrations, but it soon became apparent that the process was a great way of gathering some much needed calm and focus, where Vincent would listen to music and close off from the chaos of the outside world. It quickly became apparent that he had a real skill for interpreting character into his drawings. His meerkat seems like a very nurturing soul, full of love. There is an innocence, warmth and generosity in 'her' face that I find really touching – a universal kindness that I think we can all relate to.
