I painted this during the Covid 19 lockdown. At this point, I had already been at home for 5 weeks without seeing any of my friends or taking part in any of my usual exciting activities. Normally, I lead a very busy life full of seeing different people at the many clubs I attend. One morning, I was eating my breakfast by myself and noticed my reflection in the jug of flowers. I suddenly realised how alone I felt, with only myself for company. I wanted to paint this image as a reminder to be grateful for the company of others and a sense of belonging.
