This collection of sculptures is a commentary on the objectification of women, particularly by street harassment and catcalling. As a young woman, this area of discussion affects me on a daily basis, and issues like these impact almost every young woman I know. I hence completed my A-Level personal study on the topic of 'Sex and The Modern World,' which this sculpture is a part of. I wanted to address these issues from an acutely feminist perspective. Regarding the sculptures themselves, I isolated the parts of women's bodies that are frequently objectified by modern society, and altered these so that they appeared much more grotesque in an attempt to de-sexualise them and remove the stigma surrounding these body parts.
