Talking Heads
Collaborative piece between Year 4, Year 5
Our sculpture was influenced by a visit to the Royal Academy to see the Anthony Gormley exhibition last year. We enjoyed the exhibition because there was so much to see and there were artworks you could go inside and explore. The Anthony Gormley figures in the ceiling, floor and walls was our favourite room. We noticed that all the figures were bald. Our Art teacher asked us all to look at an artist called George Segal who also makes figures but in plaster. As a group we then learnt how to mix plaster and make our own portrait heads in plaster. Our portrait heads are organised in a circle like a meeting; our school ethos is ‘We All Belong’.
