The Black Woman

This painting is in dedication to my mum, not at all because of the role one plays in my life, but her strength as an individual. The 'Black Woman' is a cultural icon, often self-sacrificing whilst being a homemaker, breadwinner and nurturer all at once. I made this painting as a young black woman celebrating the accomplishment of black women all over.
