I was particularly drawn to the contemporary artist lhwa Kim who works with colored paper. I was also influenced by the process of African bead making which involves using recycled, rolled and cut pieces of paper. By combining the two seemingly opposite processes, I created a piece of work that focuses on detail and the harmony of colour. I named it 'City of Colour' as to me the piece seems to depict a city composed of vibrant buildings and houses.
