Inspired by Giacomo Balla's use of repeated symmetrical shapes and bright colours, I used vibrant oil paints to express the shapes of the sea and its creatures. I started off studying the curvature and shape of pineapple leaves, which to me looked similar to the shape of fish. What I like most about my work is the different shapes and colours layered on top of each other, making it appear three-dimensional and abstract.
