Castle and Bed

Ayla has an autism diagnosis and is not able to describe/articulate what inspires her to create her creations. She spends may hours working on her models, making everyday things such as her and mommy in bed and places where she'd like to live such as the castle. Many of her creations convey her strong need to feel safe – the crocodiles in the moat for protection being a perfect example. The world can be a scary place especially for a child with autism – 'Castle and Bed' depicts that safe space with mom and castle, a perfect world where the sun always shines.
