My Mum, an English Rose

The idea for this artwork was inspired by the artists Sonia Boyce and Kehinde Wiley. I chose to paint my mum wearing traditional Nigerian clothes. The idea is that although she might not look like the traditional idea of an English Rose she is part of a multicultural Britain.
