This piece was created as a final outcome at the end of my year 10 project. It was inspired by the Brutalist structures in my area and an interest in monolithic objects. The piece serves as an ode to the radical movement of Brutalism and the polarising opinions regarding its aesthetics. It also serves to illustrate the community between its inhabitants and as a depiction of the Brutalist buildings’ urban environments. It was created using porous concrete blocks, photography on tissue paper, PVA glue, acrylic paint, spray paint and sand.
