My mother suggested I could make a portrait using layers of colour with a brush. Then I chose an old photo of my mother and enlarged it using an old technique (grid technique). This way I transformed a small image on a tablet into a painting made on cardboard from an old postal delivery box, altering the colours and shapes until I liked the result. The lines of the jumper go to the background changing their colour. This way it's as if mum was emerging from the background. The red zig-zag line on the bottom right corner is a worm that is keeping her company.
