I was inspired by the artist Jane French, she paints realistic portraiture. She uses only primary colours (blue, red and yellow) and white paint. My work is a self-portrait painting in the style of Jane French. Using these primary colours was very hard, yet I got to learn and experience something new. I mixed the primary colours to get the skin tone colour I need and added white paint for different shades of skin colour. This work is to represent my own identity. Throughout this work I learned how to blend in the tone colours, using different paintbrushes and textures. I want the viewer to know who I am, where I am from. People judge others so quickly without thinking about who they are. Through my painting, my message is to feel proud of who you are. Other's opinion about you is not important, be who you are.
