A View of My Dad

This is a painting of my dad completed just after he had been in hospital having an operation. It was the first time that he was able to stand up after coming home. I asked him to send me a photo of himself because I wanted to paint him (he doesn't live with me and my mum). He was very fragile that day and I wanted to show this in the collage/watercolour that I created. I think you can see it in his posture and the way that he is smiling - it was hard for him, but he did it for me. I included bits of photo to show the patchwork style on his clothes and even the holes in his canvas shoes which are his favourites for relaxing at home.
