A miniature moon jar made at home during lockdown with no ceramics facilities. I hand built it from a clay sphere with coils for the base and rim, and a hole cut for the opening. It was left to dry on the mantlepiece, then further dried and warmed in the oven before pit firing in an incinerator dustbin in my back garden. I burnished the surface of the pot before firing so that it was shiny and picked up colour from the combustibles which included oak leaves, acorns, hay, banana peels, and onion skins, then polished with wax once fired and cool enough to handle.
