Inspired by Tracey Emin's lithographic print of the same name, this handknitted bodysuit depicts the imperfect, kneeling figure of Emin's print. The suit is held together with unnatural materials: expansion foam, emulsion paint, spray paint, and glue, contrasting with the natural method of knitting. This conflict of method and material is a reflection of the figure and artist's insecurity and conflict of behavior. The video for the garment was filmed on Margate beach, Emin's hometown, where she filmed 'Riding for a Fall' (1998).
