As I explored the theme of wealth and consumerism, I began to realise that receipts often represent, or are synonymous with, something of value. Developing on this idea I decided to look at how receipts can signify emotional value, such as an object or a moment in history. Something that could appear worthless to one individual may seem priceless to another; an item or moment extends beyond the boundary of simple commercial transaction.
